 Wrath of the lich king private server This is a short guide how you can set up a Wrath of the lich king private server. Follow the steps and you will have your Wotlk private server within some minutes. Note, this wotlk private server guide is still in beta stage! Requirements : -Wrath of the Lich King Beta client (not Alpha , you can uninstall it because it's useless now) enUS Beta Client : http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downl...ader-enUS.html enGB Beta Client : http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downl...ader-enGB.html -I'm recommending you [REPACK] WotLK MaNGOS Compiled by Mogrein for this  -Latest Wrath of the Lich King Beta patch (update the game after installation) -Navicat / HeidiSQL (for importing the .SQL files into the server database) -MySQL any version (to get Navicat / HeidiSQL working) -The most important thing : A little bit knowledge about making private servers. Step one : 1.Download the repack and extract it in a New Folder (you can rename it if you desire) 2.After in the repack's folder there is a folder named "DBC & Map Extractor" double click on it and copy / paste the ad.exe in the Wrath of the Lich King Beta folder. 3.Double click on ad.exe and a box will show up , it will automatically create a folder named "DBC" and "Maps". 4.After the box disappears (means that it's done) , cut / paste the "DBC" & "Maps" folder in the repack folder. Step Two : 1.Install MySQL and after double click on it and let it open. 2.In my case open Navicat and create new Connection (local host) and after new Databases named like this : "Characters" , "Realmd" , "mangos" and "scriptdev2". 3.After you can find these in the Database folder @ Repack for "Execute Batch File". 4.Execute each database with the matching one , "Realmd" with Realmd.sql , "mangos" with mangos.sql "Characters" with Characters.sql and "scriptdev2" with scriptdev2.sql Screenshot :  Step Four : 1.Open mangosd.conf file (with Notepad / Wordpad) and edit (in my case) "ascent" written with red , with your MySQL password. Code: LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;realmd" WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;mangos" CharacterDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;characters" Code: LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;realmd" Code: set realmlist 127.0.0.1 4.Delete your cache. 5.Open MySQL , Realmd and after mangosd. 6.Write in the mangosd console "setbc administrator 1" that means it will enable TBC on the administrator account. 7.Login with Username / Password : administrator / administrator 8.Enjoy! | can't people wait like 2 months? buy the game, and play with every non-capable of setting up a server nerds who play the real server? ah and don't post more than 2 times in a row, just edit your post. |

| It won't affect your Retail WoW , the game is separated. And for kindakoolman123 : The release date isn't announced , rumors says that it could be released on 1th January 2009 as the The Burning Crusade was announced in 2005 and released in January 2006. So we DON'T know exactly when it gonna be released |

| Clues that led to this, 1. Beta was announced, meaning that it could be just around the corner, and 2nd.  to be correct, none of the public does know when it comes out, mabey not even blizzard, there might be a major glitch. takes 2-3 months to fixed, so yea. | Thanks for this...I have a problem, and hopefully you can help. Whenever I launch mangosd, I get the following message in the cmd box: Some required *dbc files (1 from 55) not found, or not compatible: ./dbc/ChrClasses.dbc (exist, but have 60 fields instead of 59) wrong client version DBC file? | So Close to Completion! I'm so close to having this running! I have an issue when I run realmd.exe and mangosd.exe. When I run both .exe's it says how it can't connect to root@localhost 127.0.0.1 since I have a password. Yet, I can't even open the WotLK server connection on Navicat without using one. How can I overcome this? Great Guide BTW |

| Please help! I am currently DLing the beta client.. and figured i would go ahead and setup the navicat connection. However, when I type my information in (user: root pass: root on localhost) on the new connection page and hit test connection it says "Cannot connect to MySQL server on localhost" I have created a server formerly, but I could not get it to recognize the game version (didn't know how) so I decided to try again after a few weeks.. Therefor I have some navicat experience.. Just don't know how to get it to accept my connection so I can set up my database stuff. Please help if you can! | I'm having an interesting problem. When I start in the DK area i'm stuck. and when i try to leave or go anywhere it says "you must have the burning crusade installed to access this area" I have opened the mangosd.config and made sure the expansion is set to 1. any ideas? |

| I don't think it's the repack.. I just don't know how to get the MySQL server running so I can open my connection on Navicat. It says it cannot connect with the MySQL server when I click Test Connection or try to right click and open connection. If you have Himachi or AIM maybe I could speak with you on there? |

| Alright I'll give it a shot. Thanks Which version should I use? Or is there a link you can give me? I would very much appreciate it! Nevermind I got the file.. Do I open the MySQL.bat or what do I do to run MySQL? And when I do get it open do I just have to type in ascent for the password? Sorry for all of the questions, but does 4.After the box disappears (means that it's done) , cut / paste the "DBC" & "Maps" folder in the repack folder. mean that I paste them into the Repack folder? | Yes the DBC and Maps u cut / paste in the mangos repack folder . after open mysql , realmd and mangosd. go to navicat delete the ascent databases and create the mangos ones. and u know execute batch file etc etc and ur done ^^ |

| Ok. One more question and I promise I will leave you alone =P I have everything working right, up until I open the mangosd.exe file and it eventually says some stuff about 60 fields instead of 59 and 5 fields instead of 6. Does anybody know how I can fix this? I know there was a post on page 2 about this and they fixed it, but did not post what they did to fix it -.- And I am guessing that this will allow me to do the "setbc administrator 1" command in the mandosd.exe cmd box, correct? | very nice repack....it was the first time that i used navicat to import the databases to mysql but i have 1 problem....there are no mobs/enemies in the DK starting area edit: forgot to mention the instructions were perfect, it ran the first start up |

I am currently updated to patch 8634.. Didn't know if I should have gone any higher than that.. This person had the same problem, but did not post how they fixed it  Quote:
