How To Downgrade Your Wow Patch

Ok so i made this post to let people know how to downgrade their patch for wow private server and how to keep it downgraded unless you want to upgrade to a higher patch again.

Start
1. First Go Open Up your Start Menu

2. Go To My Computer

3. Open The Local Disk

4. Open the Program Files folder

5. Find Your World Of Warcraft folder (this is what people call the wow directory) and open it

6. Now Open Up the Data folder

7. Delete the patch.MPQ file and the patch-2.MPQ

8. Go Back To Your Wow Directory and Now Run The Repair Program

9. Choose Reset And Check Files (it should say wow is damaged,something like that)

10. Let it Repair

11. Go multitask while you wait (personal suggestion)

12. When Its Done Start Wow And login it Should Take You Back and Start updating the patches

13. Once Its Up to The Patch you Want Let it install it But then close everything and Dont Let It Continue

14. Change Your Realmlist Again

15. Go To Your Wow Directory And Open The Wow Program and congratulations You downgraded to the patch you wanted

YOU MUST ALWAYS OPEN WOW WITH THE WOW PROGRAM FROM YOUR DIRECTORY
IF YOU WANT TO STAY DOWNGRADED

otherwise it will attempt to auto update

a question... and if i would like to use the original patch in case of need and then reuse the downgraded one? if my english is bad, i try to explain it with an example: i downgrade the patch to play on a private server, then i want to play on the official one and i re-update wow and then, for some reason, i want to play again on the private server on which i need the downgraded version... should i do the entire process everytime, or i just have to do a backup of the original and the downgraded patch.mpq and patch-2.mpq, so i just have to sobstitute them when i need? i hope to have explained it quite well ^^' thanks anyway

I get what you mean.

I always ran 2 installs of WoW, one patched up to the current retail patch, and one patched to whatever private server I happened to be playing one at the time.

Nice Guide! Very Usefull. Becouse i had it 2 >.< but i uninstalled it and then just pressed X till the patch i wanne have. Thats take more time than thise

so you are saying you have 2 different installs of WoW? it's a lot of space on your pc xD

I used to, when I still did alot on private servers.

It isn't that much really, storage is cheap these days.
