ok well im trying to run my new server with ac web ultimate repack and mysql works fine but when it gets to logonserver it says unhandled exception has occured in your application file not found

Ok first try full reinstall of server second do you have net framework 3.5 installed this is vital to the private servers function PS; never seen this error before

ok so wat do i have to erase and download again and where can i get this framwork thing?

got something for you, i've set up a mongos server and opened all the right ports through the router, yet when i try and test the server on a different computer in my house (Different IP) i am able to log in, but i am Disconnected right away after hitting the enter key to enter the realm to make a character and stuff.

What could be causing this mystrious problem?

Any help on how to fix this instant Disconnect when trying to login.

Try downloading and installing Net Framework 3.5 at this link;

Then restart pc and try again No luck?

Then delete whole server folder, Delete internet browser history and then redownload and try again

If not post here and ill do some more research.

Ok as far as I know you are being connected but the system isnt registering you'r character , so i suggest that it is to do with you'r logonserver database or config Post the config here and Have you tried logging in on the same comp if so tell me what you got,

when i try to setup a private server with the AC web ultimate repack (version 7.eight) whilst following the instructions, after opening mysql,logonserver,ascent and apache and entering WOW i type in admin for both slots and it comes up saying:
"unable to validate game version, this may be caused by file corruption or the interference of another program"

by the way i am currently running 2.0.0 version of WOW with burning crusade (both enGB) after degrading the version using a method found on this forum, before degrading it was 2.4.3

do you have any idea what might be causing this and if so could you give me a step by step guide of how to fix it

Take it up from 2.0.0 to 2.4.2 or the one just before 2.4.3

thank you for the advice, i know it was small but that means it was small enough for me to overlook the possibility that it might work!
unfortunately i have to turn the interenet off when i want to play (damned auto-patch) but its not hard to do at least

I understand i have the same problem atm im scouting around for 2.4.3 patch release for private server and let it be known on here if i find one so just check back every now and then .

I have just set up a private server which now works perfect. Are there any ways to edit the game settings, for example changing which level every newly created should start with or how much money ever new player gets?
Is this done in the database? I have examined every table with HeidiSQL but I cant see the things I'm looking for. Are there any guides on the internet of how to do this?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with "ill hunt down the excutble files that insert that information into the table". Have you sent me some files (In that case where do I find them) or haven't you finished finding them yet?
The idea looks great, I work a lot with databases so if this is scripts doing inserts into database tables I'm sure I understand where these settings are changed. Are there descriptions to the files which value representing which setting?

when i try to connect to my mates private server i get to the realmslist and when iconnect to a realm it keeps kicking me back to the realms list.
any ideas why it would that?

Thats a connection error with your database, try setting up the mangos(d) .sql again, with that i mean re-install. also make sure no firewalls are blocking the conection, ports forwarded etc.

ill edit this post soon but here is the rundown


in the server map ( the one where you open mangosd.exe and realmd.exe) open the mangosd.config file.

scroll down.

you will see 2 distinctions in there.

1 is like
######
# info inside this : ###
######

the second is what comes beneath that
example
(1) ######
# starting level 1: max value 60 ### ( examples)
######
(2) Starting level set to : 1


so this must be confusing, anyway
things inside #### are info about the stuff beanth them.

so change the acording level setings in there

Allright i am noob at this shit really i am i have dl and installed magos and set up my server "The Hosue of Faith" created my Gm accounts ect but i cant log on to my server I really think my issue is the realm.wtf i don't think i am doing it right it said in the guide that i needed to put in y ip address i did that and i get a Cannot connect message HELPPPPPPPPP it 2 am inthe morning here and i want to complete this soon

meh not realy a guidemaker or a private server player, but atm am making a guide so my and my guild could check out wotlk together, once i pretty it up i can send it.

I write u there coz i have a problem with the WOTLK server... I followed the guide made by godofwar, i found some errors in the dbc and i was able to fix them after thousand time i tried... Now the last problem: When i try to connect to the server it says unable to connect... Any advice? Thx

Okay today i did much work on this and now instead of the handshaking pause i get Cannot Connect I changed the Wtf to both my Ip and then when that didnt work i changed it to 127.0.0.1 I also did the port fowarding and did as suggested in another post got a web server thingy (LOL) Okay so can someone post what the Wtf file should look like

Shoudl it say

set realmlist XXX.X.X.X should be ure local (NOT ONLINE) 127.0.0.1*

The *Unable to connect* usually means somthing is wrong with you'r server booting when you next boot you'r server check out the windows and tell me any unusual messages that appear + post you'r config files somthing could be wrong there
