PS on a Windows VPS?

Alright, I've been in web dev for a couple of years now, and this sounds like an interesting challenge to tackle, so I'm gonna try setting up a WoW ps on a VPS instead of on a dedi, or on a local pc.

I've never dealt with server end stuff, however, so I'm a little in the dark on that, but I figured I'd go ahead and post asking for any helpful links, tips, etc before I try this .

I've never messed with Private Servers, and I haven't played WoW in half a year. So I'm pretty fuzzy on a lot of things, but it can't be that hard >.>. So, while I'm Googling, any help here would be greatly appreciated. I believe I need the following, but it might not be everything, lemme know what I may be missing:

• A VPS
• A Copy of WoW
• A DNS
• A database management tool? (Wouldn't PHPMyAdmin Suffice?)
• The addresses, and ports for connecting to the VPS
• What else? I feel like I'm missing something.

Also, even though I'm about to browse some more, how do you install programs on a VPS O.o?


After I get it setup, I'll need advice on where to look for configs, but I really just wanna see if I can do this >.< .

well, if this helps any, you can get a good deal from here for a VPS with quad core and 2GB of RAM.

grab your self a good basic repack while your at it. that gets rid of any pesky compiling you would have to do for the server
