WoW lan server(need all help i can get)

Hello!

I played WoW pretbc and now I am going to make my own private-server for school work, and I really need some help from all of you when it have changed so much since pretbc. Why I am going to make this wow private server is because two of my friend are going to make a big lan for 60 people, and I were going to make a game-server and I asked them what kind of game they wanted me to create for their lan. They told me a World of Warcraft. So here I am and need your help now; )



How good computer will I need to create a WoW private server for 60 people

Can you in some way film the game so people can watch like the final on a projector. I mean, is there any kind of program for this or?

Like i told you i played pre tbc, so what shall i know about now? I know about the Arena and that's the tournement are all about, but how shall i make so guys gets a fair setup for all classes and races so it goes fast.



If you answer me all these question It will be a good start for now, and I be very happy I might ask for to much or for to little i don't know but I just hope you will answer my questions. : )

To make a WoW server for 60 people i'd say you'd need an average computer. Not a really good one but not a really shit one. If you post what computer you think you're going to host it on and i'd reccomend some minor changes if they're needed.

The best to do this would be FRAPS. You just need a 61th person to record the footage you want, edit the footage (quickly, I guess) and then play it on the computer connected to the projector. The only bad thing with FRAPS is that it costs $47 (that's AUD, check the conversion rate for where you live).

A free recorder would be Game Cam (it's okay) or even CamStudio (it's a little on the bad side). Personally, FRAPS is the best. It does cost a little bit but it's still worth it.

A lot of things changed from Classic to TBC. You should probably read up about somethings. Just make a 2.4.3 server and everything should be balanced if you make all spells/talents/gear work properly and give them the latest season gear (Brutal).

To make the LAN game go the best you should make these work properly.

- spells
- talents
- the gear you're going to give to people
- battlegrounds (Alterac Valley would be best for 30 v 30 fun but you could but you can also do Warsong Gulch (10 v 10) or Eye of the Storm and Arathi Basin (15 v 15))

For the best fun at the LAN put 30 of the people on Alliance and 30 of the people on Horde. Get the Alliance to all invite each other to a group and the same for Horde and then put them all at Gurubashi Arena for 30 v 30 and then get them all to leave their groups for 60 person free-for-all fun.

That computer looks pretty good for just hosting a server. I've hosted a server on a computer pretty much the same as that. It seems like it'll work so I don't think you'd need to update anything.

What are you talking about? firstly, if he is going to have 60 players, he will need alot more RAM, and i would reccomend a computer that supports DDR3 RAM. Not only that, but a 2,6 GHZ processor? That wont cope for long...
The other specs is not really interesting here, all you need is RAM and processor power.
I would go for at least 2,6 ghz dual core, and around 4-6 gigs of RAM (my computer with 1gig downed at around 12-16 players).

Okay, I'm back with more questions! I know kinda more stuffs now. The computer need to support 30 people online and rather not lagg. How good Processor and how much ram doess i need then?

and i am going to host at wrath of the lichking, any good version please tell.
