You can patch by using the blizzard patchr or you can download the patches yourself. (3.0.9 WOTLK ONLY) -

Change back to patch 3.0.9
1. Open World of Warcraft folder
2. Open Data
3. Delete the following files: patch.mpq
4. Run Repair program, click reset and check files.
5. You will receive an error saying that World of Warcraft is seriously damaged and it will depatch.
6. After repair is complete proceed to re-patching.
7. Re-Patch until 3.0.9.9551
8. Then folow the Connection Guide

4. Editing your Realmlist file
1. Go to your World of Warcraft directory. The default directory is (Crogram Files/World of Warcraft/data/enUS).
2. Open with notepad the file realmlist.wtf
3. Replace lines with "set realmlist godsofwarcraft.servegame.com"

just down patch its easy and the guide for down patching is in this post and it also dont even take long to down patch
