Rep Power: 7 | | | Gears of War 2 [Review and FAQ] Gears of War 2 is a very fun first person shooter game made specifically and only for the xbox 360. This game has a lot of ups and downs, and it has a lot of custom features and great gameplay. The gameplay and features will be listed here.
To start off with Gears of War 2 has an amazing campaign. It is very long, as well as very difficult. On normal difficulty I struggle to beat it. The aiming on this game is not very good, but all the unique killing methods, weapons, and movements make up for it. To start off with, this game features an ability to hide behind anything on the ground and big enough to cover you. You can move from hiding spot to hiding spot with a quick movement of the analog stick, as well as jump over barriers. There are lots of different "execution" moves, as the game calls them, that you can do in Gears of War 2. There is even an achievement for completing them all! There is a huge range of weapons, from cannons, to mortars and pistols and bows. its very great.
Some other things this game includes are chainsaw duels, and Horde, as well as meat shields. Chainsaw duels are when 2 people, or locusts, duel using a chainsaw. You need to press and move buttons very fast to win these, and it gets very tricky. You get an achievement for this. Horde is a mode where you pick a map and a difficulty mode, and survive as long as you can without having everybody die. It is a lot like Nazi zombies for CoD:WaW, except you are fighting the locust horde, not zombies. And they are not Nazis. Another cool thing is a meat shield. You can pick up enemy downed locusts and use them as shields against the other locusts. Beware, they dont care much for their team mates!
Now for some FAQ's. FAQ:
Q. I dont think I want to buy this game. Its way too gory, and there is a lot of mature language.
A. You can turn off Mature Language and Blood & Gore.
Q. Campaign is WAY too hard. How can I beat it?
A. Co-Op! Its a fun, easy way to utilize teamwork to beat that pesky campaigns.
Q. Locust snipers are tricky. How can I kill them?
A. Even shotguns dont spray in this game. Figure it out.

Going to play it in Hardcore now, and then definitely get the 2nd one, as I heard its even better, and anyways I totally enjoy playing alongside with those dudes, like the big guy, the ex-basketball player, whatever his name is, he's so cool. |
