How to SoftMod an Original Xbox

ok lets get started this is my guide to modding an xbox using splinter cell, you can use the 2 other games like mechassault or 007 agent underfire but splinter cell is the easiest.

Needed Items:Action Replay(costs about 30 dollars), Xbox live connection, Splinter cell 1.
MAKE SURE THE GAME IS NOT A PLATINUM HITS FOR THOSE HAVE BEEN MODIFIED AND WILL NOT WORK TO INSTALL THE LINUX.

First Install the Action replay on your computer and then open it up

You want to get the linux profile for splinter cell in the community saves



Then get a linux installer from Codejunkies.com - Linux Installer cheat codes

you can pick one or i found one on the community saves its like the first one not sure if its there for other people but worth a try



once u do all this transfer those files to the memory card then transfer to your xbox.

K after u have the transfer done launch splinter cell, go to campaign and click on linux profile, note: u cannot run the linux profile if u have the downloaded maps from xbox live.

once u do u should backup your system first just incase u somehow mess up so do that (recommended)
i didnt do this but eh no problems happened to me so i was lucky

everything else is pretty straight forward your decision on what version you want i also recommend you pick evolution x for it is easier to use.

from here you can start to mod halo on the modded dashboard or watch dvd's for free without buying the pack

DO NOT LOG ON XBOX LIVE WITH THE MODDED DASHBOARD U WILL BE BANNED FROM XBOX LIVE PERMANANTLY MEANING THEY IP BAN YOUR XBOX, TO DISABLE THE DASHBOARD RUN THE LINUX PROFILE AGAIN AND GO TO TURN SOFTMOD OFF.

discreat? forget what that means but i couldnt supply any images of the tv for the modding screen but its pretty easy once u just get it on your xbox

what different from soft mod and hard mod and u get instant bann now for modds

soft mod is using ftp connection and a linux server on yur xbox, hard mod is buying the hardware and installing into yur xbox. and no u dont get instant ban if u have it off if u have it on and logon xbox live, GG u have to buy a new xbox cuz they ipban yur xbox, says right there in the guide

i know this is old but thought i post here again, you make your own mods because i used to be pretty good, a bit rusty but i think i'm going to re-mod my box just gotta blow off the dust >_> might still have linux on it
